Electric, Ground, and Rock moves hit Volcanion for super-effective damage. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Water Absorb grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Volcanion's physical bulk (base 120 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Base Stats
Sp. Atk and Defense carry most of Volcanion's stat budget. Speed's the obvious dump stat. Near-impossible to catch and yields 3 Sp. Atk EVs. Follows a slow 1.25M XP grind.
It expels its internal steam from the arms on its back. It has enough power to blow away a mountain.
Volcanion Guide
At 600 BST, Volcanion is built different. We rank it B-Tier. As a Mythical Pokemon, the raw stats back up the reputation. Best used as a wallbreaker.
Water Absorb is what you want on Volcanion. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. On wall sets, Water Absorb pairs with Volcanion's base 120 Defense to absorb physical hits on the switch.
Base 70 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Volcanion is a special attacker with base 130 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a wallbreaker.
Run Steameruption, Flamethrower, Earthpower, and Sludge Bomb on Volcanion. Steameruption is the most common pick at 0% usage. Flamethrower provides reliable STAB damage.
