Base Stats
Vileplume’s toxic pollen triggers atrocious allergy attacks. That’s why it is advisable never to approach any attractive flowers in a jungle, however pretty they may be.
Vileplume has the world’s largest petals. They are used to attract prey that are then doused with toxic spores. Once the prey are immobilized, this Pokémon catches and devours them.
Vileplume Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Guide
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Don't let Vileplume's 490 base stat total fool you. Chlorophyll is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a support. Giga Drain with Black Sludge is the standard set.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Lapras (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Vileplume. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic-type attackers are also a problem.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Run Chlorophyll on Vileplume. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Vileplume also gets Effect Spore, but they don't compare.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Vileplume fills the support role. It's a special attacker with base 110 Sp. Atk. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, run Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, Aromatherapy, and Moonlight on Vileplume. Giga Drain is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the support role with a mix of damage and utility.
