Sun doubles the 50 Speed to 100 through AbilityChlorophyll, and 110 Sp. Atk fires Grass TermStab hard enough to threaten Water and Ground targets. The moveset answers rain teams that can't handle the Grass coverage, but MoveSleep Powder accuracy and sun dependency limit when it works.

Without breeding, Vileplume misses out on After You and Charm. That's 10 egg moves adding depth that the base kit lacks. STAB comes from Petal Dance and Solar Beam, with Normal and Dark coverage rounding things out.

Vileplume Black 2 & White 2 Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Don't let Vileplume's 490 base stat total fool you. Chlorophyll is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a support. Giga Drain with Black Sludge is the standard set.
In Black 2 & White 2, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Lapras (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Vileplume. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic-type attackers are also a problem.
In Black 2 & White 2, Run Chlorophyll on Vileplume. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Vileplume also gets Effect Spore, but they don't compare.
In Black 2 & White 2, Vileplume fills the support role. It's a special attacker with base 110 Sp. Atk. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Black 2 & White 2, run Giga Drain, Aromatherapy, Sludge Bomb, and Protect on Vileplume. Giga Drain is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the support role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
