Vanillish Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Guide
Vanillish is meant to evolve into Vanilluxe. At 395 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, watch for Infernape (Fire), Conkeldurr (Fighting), and Golem (Rock) when using Vanillish. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Steel-type attackers are also a problem.
Ice Body heals for 1/16 max HP after each turn during hail. That's the one you want on Vanillish. Weak Armor is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Snow Cloak works too if your team needs something different.
At base 59 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Vanillish is a mixed attacker with base 65 Attack and 80 Sp. Atk.
For Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, you can run Vanillish through the first few routes without issues. 395 BST won't carry you far though. Get it to Vanilluxe as fast as you can.
Game Availability
Vanillish joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 8 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
