Stunfisk Best Moveset

Tanky but toothless. 109 HP and 84/99 defenses absorb hits while 81 Sp. Atk fires Ground and Electric TermStab on slow 32 Speed cooldowns. The moveset outlasts through bulk but can't pressure anything with real speed. No Mega access, no evolution path.

Stunfisk Weakness

Type-wise, Stunfisk takes extra damage from Water, Grass, Ice, and Ground. Electric moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Stunfisk's overall bulk (109/84/99) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

Stunfisk Guide

  • Stunfisk has a 471 base stat total and ranks as C-Tier: a situational pick that fills a niche. It works best as a trick room. Base 109 HP is where it shines.

  • Stunfisk's biggest threats include Swampert (Water), Roserade (Grass), and Lapras (Ice), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Ground-type attackers are also a problem. At base 32 Speed, Stunfisk won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Static is the go-to ability for Stunfisk. It has a 30% chance of paralyzing attacking Pokémon on contact. Its hidden ability Sand Veil can work in specific setups. Limber is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.

  • Stunfisk fills the trick room role. It's a special attacker with base 81 Sp. Atk. Base 32 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's tanky enough to absorb a few hits.

  • The core moveset is Earthpower, Thunderbolt, Stealth Rock, and Scald. Earthpower leads at 0% usage. Thunderbolt provides reliable STAB damage.

Game Availability

Stunfisk first appeared in Black & White and spans 8 games across 6 generations. It later gained a Galarian form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
