Is Slowbro Good in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Playthrough?
Slowbro tanks physical hits and fires back with Psychic and Surf. Handles Maylene, Bertha, and Flint's non-Fire members. The low Speed means you always take a hit first, but the bulk is there to absorb it.

Slowbro Weakness
Slowbro is weak to Electric, Grass, Bug, Ghost, and Dark. It resists 6 types, so it can switch into a lot of moves safely. Slowbro's physical bulk (base 110 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Grass, Bug, Ghost, Dark |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Ice, Fighting, Psychic, Steel |

Slowbro Evolutions
Slowpoke's line splits into 2 evolutions, and Slowbro is the level-up path. Each sibling form needs a different method to obtain. Breed through Slowpoke to get eggs. Slowbro and Slowking share the same 490 total stats, but they're distributed differently. Check the comparison below to see where each one specializes. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
Breeding
Breed with Slowbro to get Slowpoke eggs easily using 63 partners from the Monster and Water1 egg groups. Notable egg moves include Belch, Belly Drum, Block and 5 more.
BDSP Slowbro Best Moveset
The remake's biggest defensive upgrade. Hidden AbilityRegenerator heals a third of HP every switch-out, and 95/110 physical bulk with Water/Psychic TermStab at 100 Sp. Atk makes the moveset almost impossible to wear down through repeated attacks. Rose from A-tier to S because AbilityRegenerator turns every switch into free recovery the original Gen 4 Slowbro never had.

The TM pool is where it gets interesting. Coverage across 11 types means almost nothing walls Slowbro cleanly, with Future Sight and Dream Eater anchoring the STAB side. Matchup flexibility isn't a problem.

Slowbro Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Guide
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Slowbro looks average on paper at 490 BST. But Regenerator is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier tank on our tier list. Teleport with Heavy-Duty Boots is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, but Slowbro does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Slowbro hits 590 BST.
In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Slowbro's biggest threats include Jolteon (Electric), Exeggutor (Grass), and Scyther (Bug), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Ghost and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. At base 30 Speed, Slowbro won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Slowbro gets Regenerator, Oblivious, and Own Tempo. But Regenerator is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Slowbro is a special attacker with base 100 Sp. Atk. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 30 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the tank role.
Game Availability
Available since Red & Blue, Slowbro appears in 21 games spanning 10 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Mega form in Generation 6 and a Galarian form in Generation 8.
