Obstagoon Best Moveset
AbilityGuts turns status conditions into a 50% Attack boost, and Dark/Normal typing provides Ghost immunity. 90 Attack at 95 Speed behind dual TermStab gives the moveset fast physical offense when statused. AbilityDefiant from the hidden slot punishes AbilityIntimidate. B-tier because the Guts boost plus Speed create reliable physical pressure.
Obstagoon sat at B-Tier in Gen VIII. This was Obstagoon's competitive peak. Its most popular set ran Guts with Flame Orb, favoring a Jolly nature.

Base Stats
Defense and Speed carry most of Obstagoon's stat budget. Sp. Atk's the obvious dump stat. Tough to catch and yields 3 Defense EVs. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
It evolved after experiencing numerous fights. While crossing its arms, it lets out a shout that would make any opponent flinch.
Obstagoon Guide
We rate Obstagoon C-Tier: a situational pick that fills a niche. At 520 BST, the stats are spread pretty evenly. Base 101 Defense stands out.
Obstagoon's biggest threats include Conkeldurr (Fighting), Volcarona (Bug), and Grimmsnarl (Fairy), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Conkeldurr is the most dangerous since Fighting moves deal 4x damage.
Reckless is the go-to ability for Obstagoon. It strengthens recoil moves to 1.2× their power. Its hidden ability Defiant can work in specific setups. Guts is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.
Base 95 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Obstagoon is a physical attacker with base 90 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two.
The core moveset is Facade, Knock Off, Obstruct, and Close Combat. Facade leads at 0% usage. Facade provides reliable STAB damage.
