Mismagius Weakness

Ghost and Dark moves hit Mismagius for super-effective damage. The upside? Normal and Fighting-type moves can't touch it at all. Levitate grants an additional Ground immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Mismagius's special bulk (base 105 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Mismagius Guide

  • Don't let Mismagius's 495 base stat total fool you. Levitate is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a sweeper.

  • Watch for Gengar (Ghost) and Absol (Dark) when using Mismagius. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Run Levitate on Mismagius. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. With base 105 Speed, Levitate gives Mismagius an edge before opponents can react.

  • Mismagius fills the sweeper role. It's a special attacker with base 105 Sp. Atk. Base 105 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Run Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, Mysticalfire, and Dazzling Gleam on Mismagius. Shadow Ball is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the sweeper role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Mismagius has been available in 12 games since Diamond & Pearl, though obtaining it requires an item-based evolution. This extra step makes it less common than Pokemon found through standard wild encounters.
