How to Get Mewtwo in Legends: Z-A
Mewtwo can't be caught in Legends: Z-A. Bring it over from Red & Blue, Yellow, or Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee instead. The encounter info below covers the source games.
Mewtwo cannot be caught in the wild in Legends: Z-A, but you can still get it via these paths:
Historic Event Distribution
Mewtwo was originally distributed via Mystery Gift event during Legends: Z-A's lifecycle. The event has long since ended, but Pokemon obtained through it remain legitimate and can be traded from a preserved save file.
Also Obtainable In:
Pokemon transfers only go forward through generations, never backward. Direct cross-gen trades aren't supported.
Mewtwo Weakness
Type-wise, Mewtwo takes extra damage from Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Mewtwo's special bulk (base 120 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.
