Mantine Weakness
Type-wise, Mantine takes extra damage from Electric and Rock. Watch out for Electric attacks, those deal 4x damage. Ground moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. 5 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Water Absorb grants an additional Water immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Mantine's special bulk (base 140 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Mantine Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Guide
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Swift Swim changes the entire equation for Mantine. The 485 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a support. Scald with Leftovers is the standard set.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Mantine's biggest threats include Jolteon (Electric) and Aerodactyl (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Jolteon is the most dangerous since Electric moves deal 4x damage. Only 2 weaknesses means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.
Swift Swim is what you want on Mantine. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Water Absorb, Water Veil) work on paper but Swift Swim is what makes Mantine worth using.
Base 70 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Mantine is a special attacker with base 80 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a support.
For Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, the core moveset is Scald, Roost, Defog, and Toxic. Scald leads at 0% usage. Scald provides reliable STAB damage.
