Klinklang Best Moveset
Steel TermStab at 100 Attack with MoveShift Gear for +2 Speed and +1 Attack setup. 90 Speed after one boost outruns most of the format. AbilityClear Body prevents stat manipulation. The moveset sets up and attacks. E-tier because Steel coverage alone is too narrow and 60 HP limits survivability.
Shift Gear boosted Attack and Speed in one move in Gen V (Black & White). Steel-type with 100 Attack. One Shift Gear and Klinklang outran the format. Gear Grind hit twice.

Dropped in Gen VI (X & Y). 100 Attack after one boost wasn't enough to break through bulkier walls. Pure Steel with limited coverage was one-dimensional.
Physical Attacker Moveset
- Gear Grind
- Shift Gear
- Wild Charge
- Magnet Rise

Two gens of decline by Gen VII (Sun & Moon). Shift Gear was still the only plan, and the plan couldn't handle Fairy-types or bulky Ground-types.

Fell to the bottom in Gen VIII (Sword & Shield). Three gens of decline. Pure Steel with Gear Grind and Wild Charge was the entire movepool, and it wasn't enough.

Klinklang Weakness
Fire, Fighting, and Ground moves hit Klinklang for super-effective damage. The upside? Poison-type moves can't touch it at all. With 10 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Klinklang's physical bulk (base 115 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Base 90 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Klinklang is a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as an attacker.
Run Shiftgear, Geargrind, Wild Charge, and Facade on Klinklang. Shiftgear is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the attacker role with a mix of damage and utility.
