Klang Weakness

Klang is weak to Fire, Fighting, and Ground. On the flip side, it's immune to Poison-type moves entirely. 10 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. With 60 HP and balanced defenses, Klang can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

By changing the direction in which it rotates, it communicates its feelings to others. When angry, it rotates faster.

A minigear and big gear comprise its body. If the minigear it launches at a foe doesn’t return, it will die.

Klang Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Guide

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Klang isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Klinklang to unlock its full potential. At 440 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Klang's biggest threats include Charizard (Fire), Hitmonlee (Fighting), and Swampert (Ground), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.

  • Plus is the go-to ability for Klang. It increases Special Attack to 1.5× when a friendly Pokémon has plus or minus. Its hidden ability Clear Body can work in specific setups. Minus is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Klang fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 80 Attack. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Klang does the job early-game if you need a Steel type on your team. Evolve it into Klinklang before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.

Game Availability

Introduced in Black & White, Klang has appeared in 7 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
