How to Evolve
XY Kangaskhan Best Moveset
The Mega form gains AbilityParental Bond hitting twice per attack, effectively doubling damage output. Base Kangaskhan at 95 Attack and AbilityScrappy hitting Ghosts is decent, but the Mega transformed the line into one of the most dominant Pokemon in the format. The moveset is entirely defined by the Mega this generation.

Moves List
STAB runs through Giga Impact and Hyper Beam for the basics, but Kangaskhan's real strength is the 12-type coverage spread. Dark and Dragon hit common defensive types, and the movepool keeps going.

Kangaskhan X & Y Guide
For X & Y, we rate Kangaskhan C-Tier: a niche pick in X & Y's meta. At 590 BST, it fits the sweeper role. Fakeout with Assault Vest is the standard set.
In X & Y, Kangaskhan can Mega Evolve into Mega Kangaskhan. That's 690 BST, up from 590. The stat redistribution often changes its best role. Mega Stone required, one per battle.
In X & Y, watch for Hitmonlee (Fighting) when using Kangaskhan. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. Kangaskhan has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Parental Bond lets the bearer hit twice with damaging moves. That's the one you want on Kangaskhan. It's the only ability Kangaskhan has.
Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Kangaskhan is a physical attacker with base 125 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a sweeper.
Game Availability
Since debuting in Red & Blue, Kangaskhan has appeared in 20 titles over 10 generations. Along the way, it received a Mega form in Generation 6, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
