Hawlucha Best Moveset
AbilityUnburden doubles Speed after consuming a held item, and Held ItemGrassy Seed triggers it automatically on Grassy Terrain. 118 base Speed doubled is untouchable. NatureAdamant at 92 Attack fires Fighting/Flying TermStab through MoveClose Combat and MoveAcrobatics (doubled power with no item). The moveset needs Grassy Terrain from a teammate, but once Unburden triggers, nothing outspeeds it. B-Tier.
Unburden doubled Speed after consuming an item in Gen VI (X & Y). Swords Dance plus Acrobatics at doubled Speed. Between tiers on debut. Too strong below, too frail above.

Electric Terrain from Tapu Koko activated Electric Seed in Gen VII (Sun & Moon). Seed boosted Defense and consumed the item, triggering Unburden. The combo pushed Hawlucha to the top.

Between tiers again in Gen VIII (Sword & Shield). No Tapu Koko meant no free Electric Seed activation. The Gen VII combo was gone, and Hawlucha dropped without it.
Physical Setup Sweeper Moveset
- Swords Dance
- Acrobatics
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
Recommended Teammates
Dropped further in Gen IX (Scarlet & Violet). Fighting/Flying had defensive holes, and without a terrain setter to trigger Unburden reliably, the setup was too conditional.

Hawlucha Weakness
Electric, Ice, Flying, Psychic, and Fairy moves hit Hawlucha for super-effective damage. The upside? Ground-type moves can't touch it at all. The Fighting/Flying typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Hawlucha leans offensive (base 92 Atk) rather than trying to tank its weaknesses.
| Damage | Types |

| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Fairy |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Grass, Fighting, Dark |

Base Stats
Everything pushes toward mixed damage here. Hawlucha's Speed does the work, Sp. Def pays the price. But you're still getting 2 Attack EVs per KO. Moderately hard to find, on a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
Its elegant finishing moves—performed by nimbly leaping around using its wings—are polished in the forest where it was born and raised.
Hawlucha Guide
Hawlucha looks average on paper at 500 BST. But Mold Breaker is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. B-Tier pivot on our tier list.
Watch for Raikou (Electric), Walrein (Ice), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Hawlucha. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic and Fairy-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter. Hawlucha's base 118 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Hawlucha gets Mold Breaker, Limber, and Unburden. But Mold Breaker is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Hawlucha is a physical attacker with base 92 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 118 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the pivot role.
Run Acrobatics, Swords Dance, Close Combat, and Encore on Hawlucha. Acrobatics is the most common pick at 0% usage. Acrobatics provides reliable STAB damage.
