Girafarig Weakness
Girafarig's Normal/Psychic typing leaves it vulnerable to Bug and Dark. It shrugs off Ghost-type attacks completely. Sap Sipper grants an additional Grass immunity, reshaping the matchup chart. Girafarig leans toward special offense (base 90 Sp.Atk) instead of trying to wall anything.

Girafarig’s rear head also has a brain, but it is small. The rear head attacks in response to smells and sounds. Approaching this Pokémon from behind can cause the rear head to suddenly lash out and bite.
Girafarig’s rear head contains a tiny brain that is too small for thinking. However, the rear head doesn’t need to sleep, so it can keep watch over its surroundings 24 hours a day.
Girafarig Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Guide
- Where in the Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Safari Zone can I find Girafarig?
See the Locations section above for where to find Girafarig in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.
Safari rules: You can only use Safari Balls. No battling. Two tactical items shift the catch/flee trade-off:
- Throw bait to keep Girafarig from fleeing (flee rate cut to 1/4) but it becomes harder to catch (catch factor halved).
- Throw a rock to make Girafarig easier to catch (catch factor doubled) but it flees twice as often.
- Each effect lasts 2-6 random turns; throwing one cancels the other.
At 455 BST, Girafarig is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Farigiraf before bringing it to any serious fight.
Girafarig gets Sap Sipper, Inner Focus, and Early Bird. But Sap Sipper is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Girafarig's hidden ability is Sap Sipper. Absorbs grass moves, raising Attack one stage. Better than the standard options for competitive play.
