Is Garchomp Good in Legends: Z-A Playthrough?
600 BST pseudo-legendary with a Mega form on top. Mega Garchomp is one of the most devastating physical attackers in Z-A, and Dragon and Ground coverage hits almost everything for neutral or better. Available wild at level 64 from Hyperspace, or evolved from a Gible caught at level 22. Handles the entire Team Flare Nouveau gauntlet and rivals the legendaries in raw output.

Garchomp starts showing up in endgame routes at moderate rates across 1 encounter spots. The list below is sorted so you can pick what fits your current progress without scrolling through everything.
Garchomp Weakness
Ice, Dragon, and Fairy moves hit Garchomp for super-effective damage. Ice hits land at 4x, so they're the biggest threat. The upside? Electric-type moves can't touch it at all. Garchomp's overall bulk (108/115/95) lets it take a hit or two from most weaknesses before going down.

| 2x (Weak) | Dragon, Fairy |

LZA Garchomp Best Moveset
A rare case where Mega costs something. Held ItemGarchompite pushes Attack to 170 but drops Speed from 102 to 92, meaning longer cooldowns in Mega form. AbilitySand Force boosts Ground and Rock moves in sandstorm. The moveset weighs raw power against slower recharge, and base Garchomp at 130/102 is already elite.

Garchomp Legends: Z-A Guide
For Legends: Z-A, we rate Garchomp B-Tier: a solid option in Legends: Z-A for the right team. At 700 BST, it fits the hazard setter role. Earthquake with Rocky Helmet is the standard set.
Mega Evolution isn't available in Legends: Z-A, but Garchomp does have a Mega form in Gen 6-7 games (X/Y, ORAS, Sun/Moon). Mega Garchomp hits 800 BST.
In Legends: Z-A, watch for Cloyster (Ice), Kingdra (Dragon), and Togekiss (Fairy) when using Garchomp. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Cloyster is the most dangerous since Ice moves deal 4x damage. Garchomp has enough bulk to absorb a hit, but don't push the matchup. Pivot to a teammate that resists.
Sand Force strengthens rock, ground, and steel moves to 1.3× their power during a sandstorm. That's the one you want on Garchomp. It's the only ability Garchomp has.
Base 92 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Garchomp is a physical attacker with base 170 Attack. Defensively? Tanky enough to absorb a few hits. Best used as a hazard setter.
Game Availability
Since debuting in Diamond & Pearl, Garchomp has appeared in 14 titles over 7 generations. Along the way, it received a Mega form in Generation 6, keeping it relevant across different competitive metas.
