Eldegoss Best Moveset

AbilityRegenerator healing a third of HP every switch paired with 90 Defense and 120 Sp. Def give the moveset serious defensive sustainability. 80 Sp. Atk with Grass TermStab adds modest offense. E-tier because 60 Speed is slow and Grass typing alone limits what the moveset accomplishes offensively.

Gen VIII — Sword & Shield / BDSPE

Eldegoss saw minimal competitive use in Gen VIII (Sword & Shield / BDSP). This was Eldegoss's competitive peak. Its most popular set ran Regenerator with Heavy-Duty Boots, favoring a Calm nature.

Eldegoss Weakness

Type-wise, Eldegoss takes extra damage from Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug. The Grass typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Eldegoss's special bulk (base 120 Sp.Def) helps absorb special-type weaknesses, though physical moves exploit the lower Defense.

Base Stats

Eldegoss's built to absorb hits, not race for knockouts. Special bulk with Sp. Def doing the heavy lifting. And the medium-fast 1M XP curve means it won't take forever to bring up, worth 2 Sp. Def EVs.

Eldegoss Guide

  • Eldegoss looks average on paper at 460 BST. But Regenerator is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier on our tier list.

  • Eldegoss's biggest threats include Blaziken (Fire), Cloyster (Ice), and Salazzle (Poison), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • Eldegoss gets Regenerator, Cotton Down, and Effect Spore. But Regenerator is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Eldegoss is a mixed attacker with base 50 Attack and 80 Sp. Atk. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often.

  • The core moveset is Leech Seed, Rapid Spin, Aromatherapy, and Giga Drain. Leech Seed leads at 0% usage. This set covers the balanced role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Since Sword & Shield, Eldegoss has been obtainable in 1 games. A Generation 8 debut means a shorter history, but Eldegoss has appeared steadily across every generation since.
