How to Get Dewott in Black 2 & White 2
Can't catch Dewott directly. Start with Oshawott but it's a rare spawn from the locations below, then evolve at level 36. The 3-stage chain from Oshawott to Dewott is where the leveling time goes.
Dewott Weakness
Type-wise, Dewott takes extra damage from Electric and Grass. 4 resistances help offset the weaknesses. Just 2 weak spots to worry about, which keeps teambuilding straightforward.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Electric, Grass |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Fire, Water, Ice, Steel |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

Breeding's the move. Air Slash and Assurance give Dewott options it can't learn any other way, and coverage across 9 types already covers a decent range on top of Hydro Pump and Aqua Tail. The egg moves push it further.

Dewott Black 2 & White 2 Guide
Dewott is meant to evolve into Samurott. At 413 BST, the stats aren't there for competitive play yet. Pre-evolution Pokemon rarely hold up against fully evolved threats.
Torrent is the go-to ability for Dewott. It strengthens water moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. Its hidden ability Shell Armor can work in specific setups.
At base 60 Speed, it won't be moving first often. On offense, Dewott is a mixed attacker with base 75 Attack and 83 Sp. Atk.
For Black 2 & White 2, you can run Dewott through the first few routes without issues. 413 BST won't carry you far though. Get it to Samurott as fast as you can.
Game Availability
Dewott joined the series in Black & White and has been available in 8 titles so far. With 6 generations of appearances, it's established itself despite the later start.
