Copperajah Weakness

Copperajah's Steel typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Fighting, and Ground. It shrugs off Poison-type attacks completely. 10 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. With 122 HP and balanced defenses, Copperajah can afford to eat a neutral hit or two.

Copperajah Guide

  • Don't let Copperajah's 500 base stat total fool you. Sheer Force is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a wallbreaker.

  • Watch for Infernape (Fire), Conkeldurr (Fighting), and Landorus (Ground) when using Copperajah. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. At base 30 Speed, Copperajah won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.

  • Run Sheer Force on Copperajah. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Copperajah also gets Heavy Metal, but they don't compare.

  • Copperajah fills the wallbreaker role. It's a physical attacker with base 130 Attack. Base 30 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

  • Run Heavyslam, Earthquake, Heatcrash, and Play Rough on Copperajah. Heavyslam is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the wallbreaker role with a mix of damage and utility.

Game Availability

Copperajah first appeared in Sword & Shield and spans 2 games across 3 generations. It later gained a Gigantamax form in Generation 8, adding new dimensions to its competitive identity.
