Chandelure Best Moveset
145 Sp. Atk is among the highest non-legendary values in the game. Ghost/Fire TermStab behind AbilityFlash Fire absorbing Fire moves with Held ItemChoice Scarf and NatureTimid at 80 Speed fixes the pace. The moveset fires devastating special Ghost and Fire damage that few answers survive cleanly. C-Tier through raw special damage output.
145 Sp. Atk with Flash Fire in Gen V (Black & White). The highest Sp. Atk of any non-legendary. Too strong for the tier below but too frail for the top.

Three gens of decline in Gen VIII (Sword & Shield). Faster Ghost-types with better utility took the slot. 145 Sp. Atk couldn't carry 80 Speed and paper defenses.

Chandelure Weakness
Water, Ground, Rock, Ghost, and Dark moves hit Chandelure for super-effective damage. The upside? Normal and Fighting-type moves can't touch it at all. 7 resistances give it solid defensive coverage on top of that. Flash Fire grants an additional Fire immunity, reshaping the matchup chart.

Chandelure's all-in on Sp. Atk at the expense of Attack. The special lean is obvious from the bars. Yields 3 Sp. Atk EVs and follows a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
This Pokémon haunts dilapidated mansions. It sways its arms to hypnotize opponents with the ominous dancing of its flames.
Chandelure Guide
Don't let Chandelure's 520 base stat total fool you. Flash Fire is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it B-Tier as a cannon.
Watch for Starmie (Water), Excadrill (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Rock) when using Chandelure. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Ghost and Dark-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Run Flash Fire on Chandelure. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Chandelure also gets Flame Body and Infiltrator, but they don't compare.
Chandelure fills the cannon role. It's a special attacker with base 145 Sp. Atk. Base 80 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Run Shadow Ball, Energy Ball, Flamethrower, and Trick on Chandelure. Shadow Ball is the most common pick at 0% usage. Flamethrower provides reliable STAB damage.
Game Availability
