Blaziken Best Moveset
AbilitySpeed Boost raises Speed one stage every turn, which means Blaziken automatically outspeeds everything after two turns. 120 Attack behind Fire/Fighting TermStab with Held ItemLife Orb and NatureAdamant hits with devastating physical power. The moveset snowballs through games by simply staying alive. Tera Fire under Life Orb pushes Flare Blitz into territory nothing survives.
Fire/Fighting was brand-new typing in Gen III (Ruby & Sapphire). 120 Attack with Blaze Kick and Sky Uppercut was strong, and Speed Boost didn't exist yet.

Speed Boost changed everything in Gen V (Black & White). Free +1 Speed every turn. Protect once, outspeed everything, sweep. Banned from standard play.

Two gens banned from standard play. Mega Blaziken had Speed Boost AND higher stats in Gen VI (X & Y). Both forms were too dominant for any normal format.

- High Jump Kick

Three gens restricted in Gen VII (Sun & Moon). Speed Boost plus Protect plus Swords Dance made Blaziken an unstoppable sweeper once it got rolling.

No Mega form in Gen VIII (Sword & Shield) and Speed Boost was less unique. Other sweepers with better coverage or bulk competed for the slot.
Physical Setup Sweeper Moveset
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz

Same level in Gen IX (Scarlet & Violet). Speed Boost was still good but Blaziken's frailty limited what it accomplished without dedicated setup turns.

Base Stats
The stat bars tell the story: Attack carries everything and HP's dead weight. But this Blaze Pokemon still yields 3 Attack EVs per fight on a 1.06M XP medium-slow curve.
Boiling-hot blood courses through its entire body, doubling the sharpness of its moves. It subdues opponents in the blink of an eye.
Blaziken Guide
Blaziken already has 630 BST going for it, and Speed Boost pushes the competitive value even higher. B-Tier sweeper on our tier list.
Yes. Mega Blaziken is the evolved form, sitting at 730 BST. Big power spike over base Blaziken (630). Equip the Mega Stone and it transforms in battle.
Watch for Starmie (Water), Golem (Ground), and Aerodactyl (Flying) when using Blaziken. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic-type attackers are also a problem.
Blaziken gets Speed Boost. But Speed Boost is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that. With base 100 Speed, Speed Boost gives Blaziken an edge before opponents can react.
Blaziken is a physical attacker with base 160 Attack. Enough bulk to take a hit or two, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 100 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. Fits the sweeper role.
Game Availability
Available since Ruby & Sapphire, Blaziken appears in 16 games spanning 8 generations. Beyond its original form, it gained a Mega form in Generation 6.
