USUM Avalugg Best Moveset
184 Defense absorbs physical attacks at one of the highest levels in the format. 117 Attack with Ice TermStab retaliates hard. But 46 Sp. Def crumbles to any special hit and 28 Speed acts dead last. Don't skip the egg moves. Avalugg picks up Barrier and Mirror Coat only through breeding, and both fill gaps the natural movepool can't. STAB runs through Blizzard and Ice Beam while coverage across 8 types adds range.

Avalugg Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Guide
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Avalugg works as a wallbreaker with 514 BST behind it. B-Tier on our list: a solid option in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon for the right team. Rapid Spin with Rocky Helmet is the standard set.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, watch for Infernape (Fire), Conkeldurr (Fighting), and Golem (Rock) when using Avalugg. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Steel-type attackers are also a problem. At base 28 Speed, Avalugg won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
Own Tempo prevents confusion. That's the one you want on Avalugg. Sturdy is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses. Ice Body works too if your team needs something different.
Avalugg is a physical attacker with base 117 Attack. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 28 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. Fits the wallbreaker role.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, run Rapid Spin, Avalanche, Recover, and Earthquake on Avalugg. Rapid Spin is the most common pick at 0% usage. Avalanche provides reliable STAB damage.
