It usually passes its time in the water. When its belly is full, it stores its subdued prey in the water bubble on its head.

It has a habit of storing things it values in its water bubble. If its Trainer doesn’t watch out, Araquanid will try to put them in its bubble!

Araquanid Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Guide

  • In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Araquanid looks average on paper at 454 BST. But Water Absorb is why it sees play. Build around that and it pulls its weight. C-Tier on our tier list. Liquidation with Focus Sash is the standard set.

  • In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Araquanid's biggest threats include Jolteon (Electric), Staraptor (Flying), and Terrakion (Rock), all carrying super-effective STAB moves.

  • Araquanid gets Water Absorb and Water Bubble. But Water Absorb is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.

  • Araquanid is a mixed attacker with base 70 Attack and 50 Sp. Atk. Tanky enough to absorb a few hits, too. Speed tells the real story. Base 42 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

  • For Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, the core moveset is Liquidation, Sticky Web, Leechlife, and Toxic. Liquidation leads at 0% usage. Liquidation provides reliable STAB damage.

Game Availability

Since Sun & Moon, Araquanid has been obtainable in 4 games. A Generation 7 debut means a shorter history, but Araquanid has appeared steadily across every generation since.
