Amoonguss Black 2 & White 2 Guide
In Black 2 & White 2, Don't let Amoonguss's 464 base stat total fool you. Regenerator is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it C-Tier as a trick room. Giga Drain with Black Sludge is the standard set.
In Black 2 & White 2, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Walrein (Ice), and Staraptor (Flying) when using Amoonguss. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Psychic-type attackers are also a problem. At base 30 Speed, Amoonguss won't outrun any of these threats so switching to a resist is usually the safer play.
In Black 2 & White 2, Run Regenerator on Amoonguss. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Amoonguss also gets Effect Spore, but they don't compare.
In Black 2 & White 2, Amoonguss fills the trick room role. It's a special attacker with base 85 Sp. Atk. Base 30 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Black 2 & White 2, run Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, Hiddenpowerfire, and Stun Spore on Amoonguss. Giga Drain is the most common pick at 0% usage. This set covers the trick room role with a mix of damage and utility.
Game Availability
