Ambipom Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Guide
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Technician changes the entire equation for Ambipom. The 482 BST doesn't tell the full story. Ranked C-Tier as a sweeper. Fakeout with Silkscarf is the standard set.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, Ambipom's biggest threats include Machamp (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about. Ambipom's base 115 Speed lets it outpace many threats and strike first, which matters more than trying to tank hits.
Technician is what you want on Ambipom. Every competitive set worth running is built with that ability in mind. The alternatives (Pickup, Skill Link) work on paper but Technician is what makes Ambipom worth using. With base 115 Speed, Technician gives Ambipom an edge before opponents can react.
Base 115 Speed lets it outrun most of the field. On offense, Ambipom is a physical attacker with base 100 Attack. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a sweeper.
In Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, the best way to handle Ambipom: Priority moves (Mach Punch, Aqua Jet, Ice Shard) bypass its speed. Bulky walls that resist its STAB also shut it down.
