Amaura Best Moveset
Rock/Ice typing is defensively terrible with five weaknesses, and 67 Sp. Atk at 46 Speed can't capitalize on the offensive combination. The moveset struggles against everything that hits back. Aurorus's 99 Sp. Atk and 123 HP give the line a functional identity.
Amaura saw minimal competitive use in Gen VI (X & Y / ORAS). This was Amaura's competitive peak. Its most popular set ran Snow Warning with Icyrock, favoring a Timid nature.

Step 2Evolve into Aurorus
Base Stats
Nothing fancy in Amaura's spread. It leans mixed with HP out front. And you'll get 1 HP EV per KO for it. Follows a medium-fast 1M XP curve.
This Pokémon was successfully restored from a fossil. In the past, it lived with others of its kind in cold lands where there were fewer predators.
Amaura Guide
At 362 BST, Amaura is firmly in pre-evolution territory. Evolve it into Aurorus before bringing it to any serious fight.
Amaura's biggest threats include Lucario (Fighting), Metagross (Steel), and Milotic (Water), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Lucario is the most dangerous since Fighting moves deal 4x damage. Grass, Ground, and Rock-type attackers are also a problem. With 6 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.
Amaura gets Snow Warning and Refrigerate. But Snow Warning is the one that matters. It's the centerpiece of every viable set. Build around that.
Snow Warning is the hidden ability. It summons hail that lasts indefinitely upon entering battle. Worth hunting for if you want Amaura to compete at a higher level.
Amaura is leaning toward the special side (base 67 Sp. Atk). Speed tells the real story. Base 46 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.
Game Availability
Since X & Y, Amaura has been obtainable in 6 games. A Generation 6 debut means a shorter history, but Amaura has appeared steadily across every generation since.
